Written expression

What is it?

Written expression is using knowledge of the writing process to convert ideas into written words. This includes motor skills, and the conventions of writing composition: handwriting, spelling, punctuation, syntax, semantics. Written expression encompasses steps in the writing process: planning, writing, revising, and editing.

Written expression is a crucial part of communication and critical thinking.
